How to Pack a Suitcase: So That You Don't End Up Disheveled and Late.
Whether you're traveling for business or pleasure, packing is one of the most stressful parts of the travel process. As someone who travels about four times a year, I’ve found that it's always better to be prepared than not. What if your luggage gets lost? What if it rains and all of your clothes are wet? These are just some of the reasons why it's important to pack in advance, to avoid any potential disasters. This guide will give you tips on how to pack a suitcase that will ensure that you don't end up disheveled and late.
Packing essentials & Packing your bag
Packing for a trip is a stressful process, but it doesn't have to be. There are a few steps you can take to make the packing process a lot less stressful.
First of all, before you even think about what clothes to pack, you need to know what your destination will be like. Some destinations have strict rules on what travelers can bring in with them so it's important to check with customs and airport authorities before packing.
Next, pack essentials that will come in handy while away from home. Things like an extra phone charger, hair ties or pins, an extra pair of underwear and socks—anything that will help you with basic necessities when traveling.
Once you've been able to do those things, it's time to start packing your bag! I always recommend checking in advance with your airline for any restrictions on what they allow in carry-on luggage—this way you don't end up stranded at the airport trying to figure out how not to throw away your toothbrush or favorite shirt.
You should also pay attention when packing toiletries because some countries have different standards for personal care products than others. For example, some countries require that all liquids be carried through security in 3 oz containers which may mean that you
Clothing considerations
Wardrobe planning is one of the most important aspects of packing. You want to make sure you have an outfit for every occasion, but also that your clothes are appropriate for the season.
Consider what you'll be doing while on vacation, and pack accordingly. Is it winter? Pack warmer clothing. Is it summer? Pack lighter clothes.
Electronics, toiletries, and shoes
One of the most important aspects of packing is to keep your electronics with you at all times. It's possible that your luggage could get lost or stolen, and if that were to happen, it would be much more difficult for you to get around without your phone.
Additionally, make sure you bring any toiletries you may need while on the road. If you're staying in a hotel or vacation home, you won't have access to shampoo, conditioner, toothpaste, toothbrush, etc. Consider bringing one of those small travel containers of shampoo and conditioner to make sure you don't forget anything!
Lastly, pack at least one pair of shoes (or sneakers) per day. No matter where you'll be traveling or how long it'll take to get there, packing at least one pair of shoes will ensure that your feet aren't too sore after a long day of walking around.
Packing Toiletries & Soap and shampoo
If you're traveling for business, most hotels will provide soap, shampoo, and conditioner. This means that you shouldn't need to pack these items. If you are staying at a hotel with an old or subpar shower, they may not provide these items. Consider packing travel-sized bottles of items like shampoo and conditioner in your suitcase.
If you're packing for leisure, consider using the hotel's amenities before using yours. You'll avoid bringing too many toiletries that will take up space in your suitcase and will allow you to experience different brands of hygiene products if they're available.
Deodorant & Eye care products
We'll start with two of the most important things you should never forget: a deodorant and a toothbrush. They're not just for hygiene purposes, but they're also going to help you feel better. Take a moment before you head out the door to freshen up, brush your teeth, and apply deodorant.
Gear essentials
Toothpaste, toothbrush, mouthwash
One of the first things you want to pack is your toothbrush, toothpaste, and mouthwash. These are some of the most important items you'll need while traveling because they can help prevent sickness.
It's also a good idea to pack extra of these items for your travel partners. It's especially helpful if you're staying with family or friends that aren't used to the products you are accustomed to using.
Makeup & Skin care products.
There are about a billion products out there that claim to be the best for your skin. How do you know which ones are actually good for you? It's hard to pick just one or two, so I recommend taking this list with you on your trip to use as a reference.
